A Relaxation Massage is complete body massage, using smooth, gliding strokes and classic Swedish Massage techniques. I will use light to medium pressure, depending on the client’s preference, and the intent of the session is to help the client relax.
Use of long, smooth strokes, kneading and other movements focused on superficial layers of muscle using massage oil.
During a relaxation massage there is less emphasis on working out serious adhesions or knots in the muscle tissue and the therapist won't push your pain limits in order to get the muscle to release. Sometimes people even fall asleep during a relaxation massage.
Relaxation massage improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues.
It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.
There are still substantial health benefits to a relaxation massage, including calming the nervous system, promoting a sense of well-being, improving blood circulation and stimulating the body's lymphatic system, which carries away waste products.
If stress, anxiety and tension are causing problems a soothing relaxation massage is the key to reducing symptoms.
